Shiatsu literally translates as
finger pressure. Shiatsu is a Japanese form of body work designed to heal
and promote health by influencing and improving the state of Ki in the body.
Though Eastern and Western medical
practices seem to have little in common both investigate the human body and its functions. Eastern medicine has accumulated knowledge about the workings and composition of the human body, just as Western medicine has.
Eastern medical theory describes health as a dynamic balance of body, mind and spirit. Each part is inseparable from the functioning of the whole organism in its environment. As a shiatsu therapist you will treat the whole body as well as specific problem area by addressing both physical and emotional well
being.
A Shiatsu treatment costs between £25 and £40
and lasts for around one hour.
